The University of Burgos, responding to the growing interest in Spanish across the world, offers a range of courses in Spanish Language and Culture each year for foreign students as well as for teachers.
First and foremost, our courses are intended to enable students to learn our language while immersed in a linguistic experience, not only in the classroom, but also in the their daily life alongside the people of Burgos, appreciating our history and our monuments, savouring our famous gastronomic delights and warming to our welcome and our noble-minded nature.
Courses are held at the San Amaro Campus, within the “Hospital del Rey ”, founded in 1195 by Alfonso VIII and formerly a monastic hospital on the pilgrimage to Santiago, better known as the “Camino de Santiago ”. The buildings are superb examples of Proto-Gothic architecture.
The University of Burgos currently has almost 10,000 students studying at 6 centres: the Science Faculties, the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies, the Faculty of Humanities and Education, the Faculty of Law, and the Higher Polytechnic School, as well as at three associated schools, the School of Nursing, the School of Labour Relations and the School of Tourism. It currently offers over 30 different undergraduate degrees and, in addition, over 20 PhD Programmes, as well as several Official Masters and other graduate courses.
