The School of Justice and Public Safety at Southern Illinois University Carbondale invites applications for an Assistant Professor position to contribute to the school's programs in Paralegal Studies and Criminology and Criminal Justice. The selected individual will serve as coordinator of the American Bar Association (ABA)-approved Paralegal Studies program. This is a continuing, nine-month, tenure-track appointment with an anticipated start date of August 16, 2020.
Qualifications: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school and a Ph.D. in criminology and criminal justice or a related discipline at time of appointment-such as sociology, psychology, political science, economics, or geography-with a substantive research focus in criminology and criminal justice, law, or legal studies. Applicants must be able to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels in both programs.
