The research group "New Methods in Organic Synthesis" (QO-3) possesses a well-established career in Organic Chemistry, as it is shown by its members´ CVs. Since 1998, our research work is centered on the development of new methodology in Organic Synthesis, and we have experience in the preparation of functionalized heterocyclic compounds with potential biological activity. Nowadays, the group is composed of a full professor, an associate professor, and several Ph.D. students. In our group, eleven student have got their Ph.D. degree and are actually developing their research works in pharmaceutical companies and in other research institutions and universities. We are interested in the development of new methods in Organic Synthesis, mainly based on catalytic processes using both organocatalysis and transition-metal complexes.
